Week 1: Sun, earth and the moon

What did you do in lab today? We discussed questions which led to my answers: My best understanding of phases of the moon is that as the moon orbits we see the moon from different angles at our location and we see it from a different phase. I am forgetting how long it takes to orbit, but that causes the phases. My best understanding of the seasons is when we get further from the sun, that causes our seasons to change. The further from the sun we are that is when it is fall and winter, and then closer is spring, closest is summer.   A lunar eclipse is when the moon aligns with the sun in front of it, I believe that is why it turns orange. Also I took notes which I am inserting here which prove my thoughts from the beginning. What was the big question? We focused on several of the big questions throughout lab and discussion.
